In Blox Fruits, materials is the first and the last thing you will need to progress further into the game. When it comes to crafting, upgrading fruits, enhancing abilities, and unlocking secret moves… everywhere you need materials. With Update 26, a variety of new materials were introduced, and among them, one stands out as both deceptively rare and extremely difficult to obtain — the Moonstone.
Even though this material is listed as “rare” in the game, don’t get fooled. It is not rare at all, more like a Mythical resource. If you’re aiming to complete high-level fruit upgrades, especially the Gravity Fruit quests or other secret progressions, you’ll eventually need Moonstones.
🌙 What Is Moonstone?
The Moonstone is a rare material that is usually used in fruit enhancements and secret ability upgrades tied to late-game quests. Despite being classified as Rare, it’s far harder to farm compared to other similarly ranked materials like Mystic Droplets or Radioactive Materials.
Its main use is in final-tier quests for fruits like Gravity, where Moonstone is needed to unlock secret, enhanced abilities. Without this material, you will not have the ability to finish this quest, that’s why get ready.. and let’s find this material.
🧭 Where to Get Moonstone
Unlike most rare materials, which drop from NPCs or raid bosses, Moonstone can only be only collected by killing a specific boss: the Tyrant of the Skies.
🐉 Boss: Tyrant of the Skies
- Level: 2600
- Location: Tiki Outpost (Third Sea)
- Drop: 1–5 Moonstones (guaranteed if damage threshold is met)
This boss is known to be not as just a flying boss, but as the most annoying and complicated to kill in the game. It not only has high amount of HP, but it also can constantly fly, making melee or short-range attacks difficult to land and with some weapons even impossible. Don’t forget the fact of the 7-minute despawn rotation.
🗺️ How to Spawn Tyrant of the Skies
If you hope to just come and already see the spawned boss, you are wrong! To have the ability to spawn this boss, you need to solve the puzzle at the Tiki Outpost to summon the Tyrant.
✅ Steps to Summon the Boss:
- Travel to Tiki Outpost in the Third Sea.
- Defeat local NPCs in the boss arena area.
- Wait until all the statue eyes light up — this indicates that the summoning condition is partially complete.
- Break all the clay pots nearby. Once this is done, the boss will spawn in the arena.
🛡️ How to Defeat Tyrant of the Skies Efficiently
- Team Up: Soloing this boss is very difficult due to its high health and air-based mechanics. Bring allies to deal damage quickly.
- Use Ranged Fruits: Fruits like Magma, Dragon, Phoenix, or Gravity (ironically) offer good reach.
- Fly to Keep Up: Equip a flight ability (like Draconic Soar, Portal Dash, or Sky Step) to stay mobile and dodge the Tyrant’s area attacks.
- Watch the Timer: You only have a bit over 7 minutes to take it down before it despawns.
🎁 Moonstone Drop Mechanics
If you are one of those players who is very scared not to get any rewards out of the boss, don’t worry… we even got you here:
Drop Conditions:
- You do not need to deal the final blow.
- If you contribute at least 10% of total damage, you will receive a guaranteed Moonstone drop.
- Players who meet the damage threshold will receive 1 to 5 Moonstones randomly.
🧠 Final Thoughts
The Moonstone may only be classified as a “rare” material, but its difficulty and importance place it among the most essential resources in Blox Fruits, especially in Update 26 and beyond. With tight spawn mechanics, an airborne boss, and the need for teamwork, farming Moonstone is both a challenge and a commitment.
If you’re serious about unlocking the full potential of your Gravity Fruit or completing late-game quests tied to the Mysterious Scientist, you’ll need to master the Tyrant of the Skies boss fight and collect as many Moonstones as possible.
